Quality
Modernity and diligence in production
A good and tasty beer doesn't have to be expensive – the Sternburg brewers have been proving that since 1822. From the very beginning, the German Purity Law has been the foundation of our brewing philosophy. Therefore, only carefully selected raw materials from certified suppliers make it into our beer. Our hops and malt are fully traceable back to their growing regions – 100 % natural, with no genetic modification. Sternburg is completely vegan, meaning no animal products are used at any stage of the brewing process.
In our in-house laboratory, we continuously monitor the quality of the delivered raw materials at every stage up to the final product. Independent institutes also conduct regular tests to verify the purity of our brewing water.
Sustainability is nothing new to us: The Sternburg brewery proudly holds the distinction of being the first company in the food industry of Saxony to receive the DIN ISO 9001 certification for quality management and the DIN ISO 14001 certification for environmental management. In addition to the standardized hygiene guidelines, we have developed our own system for food and consumer safety. We prioritize the environmentally friendly use of resources, especially of water and energy. We avoid unjustifiable transport routes – for example, our malt is mainly sourced from the Central German region which supports our local agriculture.
As a member of the Saxony Environmental Alliance, we focus on ecological packaging. This means no metal foils that are difficult to recycle or paints containing heavy metals.
